Standing in the Rain
So far today hasn’t been a good day. I was 2 minutes from my home on my way to work when I got rear ended. The damage to my car is very minimal, you can barely see it. But her Mazda took a beating. Considering I was stopped waiting for two cars to turn into the driveway of an apartment building and she was doing 50km when she hit me…my car basically dusted itself and walked away.
So we called the police, who we found out, that unless someone is injured doesn’t come out to the accident even if there is $1,000 in damage to one of the cars. We instead had to wait for CAA (35min in the rain!) to pick her car up and go to the police station ourselves to report the accident.
So I just got in from reporting the accident to police and now I’m waiting on a call from my insurance. I found out that because I was rear ended, my car will be fixed with no reprecussions to me, no deductible and nor will it be on my record. I thought it would be so I wasn’t going to report it. The man at the police station said because she is 100% at fault, to get my car fixed.
She was a nice girl, immediately got out of her to see if I was alright. My neck hurt a bit but so far so good. I could have a stiff neck tonight or later on tomorrow.
Had to use a vacation day today and cancelled lunch with the girls. It’s also rainy and gloomy - I should have stayed in bed :P
I will note my foul mood seems to have gone…even with the accident, I’m in a pretty good mood.
